CCS Students and Instructors Shine at DAWG’s September Trial!

From Beginners and Starters through Advanced and Masters to Veterans, CCS dogs and their handlers enjoyed a fun and successful long weekend of agility at Dallas Agility Working Group’s recent back-to-back UKI and USDAA trials on September 25 and September 26-27.

Diana Dann and Rylee kick-started Friday’s UKI competition by earning their Beginners Agility title as well as winning Senior Speedstakes with a 1st place qualifying run.

At Saturday’s and Sunday’s USDAA event, Lisa Ortale and Oakley clinched their Starters Snooker title with a 1st place Q and also scored a Combined Pairs Q. Not to be outdone, her daughter, CCS instructor Brooke Ortale, ran Helena Roman’s Gimmi to his Advanced Snooker title.

Judge Dave Visniski poses with newly crowned Agility Dog Champion Trust and owner/handler Brooke Ortale.

Brooke’s birthday was Saturday, and she celebrated by earning Biathlon and Steeplechase Qs with both Finesse and Trust. Then she capped off Sunday by completing Trust’s Agility Dog Championship. Kudos and congratulations to Brooke and ADCH Trust!

Fellow CCS instructor Crystal Ragan’s Brill and Max! won their respective height classes of Grand Prix and Steeplechase. Brill and Crystal also paired with Deborah Bridge and Prizm to earn a Combined Pairs Q, while Deborah and Pixel scored a 2nd  place Q in Steeplechase.

Christie Deen and Dutch teamed up with Jeremy Schuster and Dare to earn Dutch’s first Team Q — including Qs in Team Gamblers and Team Jumpers — plus a Combined Pairs Q.

Teddy was the star of Betsie Bolger’s #Agility4, earning a Team Q as half of Teddy Got Blitz’d (with Blitz and Peggy Friauf) along with a 2nd place Team Standard Q and Combined Pairs Q (with Bet and Lizzie Carson). Fast Eddie finished 3rd in Team Snooker and Combined Pairs (with Kai and Jean Stockton); Wiley Riley took 3rd place in Masters Jumpers and Steeplechase. Coco won Veterans Gamblers and Jumpers.
