CCS Members Make the Podium — and More! — at USDAA South Central Regional Championship
An enthusiastic coterie of CCS members enjoyed an impressively successful weekend at the United States Dog Agility Association’s South Central Regional Championship. Hosted by Dallas Agility Working Group (DAWG) at the Longhorn Arena in Greenville, Texas, the prestigious event attracted keen competitors from several states.
CCS was especially well represented on the podium for 3-Dog Team: Jody Faulkner and Wyatt brought home a gold medal as part of Great Team Name Loading, while Deborah Bridge with Pixel (P16) and Crystal Ragan with Brilliant (CH16) scored silver as two-thirds of If You Feel It, Chase It!
Team Qs also were earned by Jody with Brio (P16) as half of two-dog team Finn’s Got Brio as well as by Jean Stockton with Amber (P4) and Brooke Ortale with Trust (CH20) from three-dog team TSA along with Diana Dann and Rylee (CH20) from three-dog team 95th Cousins.
“This was probably the best regional I’ve ever attended,” said Diana. “The best judges and the best courses!”
Jody (Wyatt and Brio), Crystal (Brilliant and Max!), Deborah (Pixel), and Jean (Amber) made multiple appearances on the podium to claim gold, silver, and bronze medals in Biathlon, Grand Prix and Steeplechase Finals, and Strategic Games.
Also getting to stand on a box were Brooke Ortale with Trust, who placed 2nd in Steeplechase Finals in addition to being the top CH20 Team dog; Christie Deen with Dutch (CH24), who took silver in Strategic Games; and Betsie Bolger with Coco and Teddy (both P4), who earned gold medals in Veterans All Around.
Cheering all of them on was Karen Nicodemus, whose Dash made his Regional debut in the Starters division. “My young dog far exceeded my expectations,” said Karen. “And the courses were AWESOME all weekend — the best I’ve run in a very long time!”🐾👣
