Schedules, Fees and Registration

Foxie: Owned by Ronda DillardCenter for Canine Sports offers several classes in Agility, Obedience and Rally. The classes are designed to train the handler and dog to compete with other handlers and dogs.

The classes, schedules, and fees are described below.


AGILITY CLASSES AND SCHEDULES

Regularly scheduled classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The dates for the first class of each session are listed in the table below:

Agility: Beginning Dates for Level 1, Level 2, Intermediate, Advanced and Open class sessions.

Agility Classes and Schedules
Beginner Agility
Will introduce students to short sequences, improving handling skills, crosses, building speed & confidence on the obstacles (teeter, Aframe) are not at full height; proofing contacts, weave poles, & table work

Class fee: $60 for 6 week class.

Advanced Beginner Agility (Level 1)
Dog and handler will be introduced to:
  • More sequences and short courses.
  • Crossing A-frame, seesaw and dog walk (at full heighth) with speed and exhibiting reliable contact control.
  • Handling techniques, such as front and rear crosses, come to hand, flip turns.
  • Perform jumps, tunnels and tire correctly; jumps not at full height.
  • Channel weave poles - set of 12.
  • Table with quick sit and down.
Class fee: $60 for a 6 week class.

Advanced Beginner Agility (Level 2)
Dog and handler will be introduced to:
  • Harder sequences and short courses.
  • Crossing A-frame, dog walk Teeter (at full height) with speed and
  • exhibiting reliable contact control.
  • Handling techniques, such as front & rear crosses.
  • Weave poles – set of 12 – closed.
  • Table with a quick down.
Class fee: $60 for 6 week class.

Intermediate Agility
The Intermediate class is for dogs that are ready or near ready for competition and have had some experience in an agility trial setting. In this class dogs are working all obstacles & jumps at full height; handlers are working at improving and adding to their handling skills, including distance work.

Class fee: $50. First class of each month.

Open Agility
This is the highest level class we offer. This class is for dogs competing at the upper levels of competition--Masters (USDAA), Excellent (AKC) or Elite (NADAC). Handlers continue to work at improving and adding to handling skills and distance work.

Puppy Class Agility (puppies 4 months to 12 months)
Puppies will learn to touch a target, come to hand, sit, down and come on command; introduction to puppy-sized equipment and learn socialization skills around other dogs and people.

Class fee: $60 for 6 week class.

Private Instruction
Private instruction is available. Contact CCS for information. By appointment only.
You will need the following items for Agility Training:
  • Buckle collar and leash.
  • Favorite toy.
  • Lots of treats.
  • Treat bag or fanny pack.
  • Bowl for water.

Obedience Classes and Schedules
Instructor: Lynn Sidwell
Advanced Obedience
  • Dogs must have completed & passed a beginner obedience class, i.e., Heel, Sit, Down, Come, Stay/Wait, Walking on a loose leash in order to attend this class.
  • Focus for this class is on polishing dog and handler's basic obedience and introduce more advanced obedience work.
  • Introduce dumb bell, work off leash, etc.
Class fee: $60 for 6 week class.

Beginner Obedience
Beginner obedience is for dogs that are 7 months or older. Class is limited to 8 dogs. Dogs and handlers will learn sit, down, come and stand. Dogs will learn to walk on a loose lead, to wait quietly and walk etiquette. Learn to settle and to do a one minute sit and two minute down. Learn to come when called. Dogs will be on leash at all times. Bring soft treats for your dog. Training will be with food.

Novice Rally
Rally is a sport in which dog and handler teams navigate a course with signs indicating different exercises to perform.
  • Students learn all the Rally signs in this class.
  • Instruction on how to read and perform the Rally signs used in competition.
  • Instruct the handler on footwork necessary to perform exercise correctly with the dog.
  • Work on short sequences with signs.
Class fee: $90 for 6 week class.

Advanced/Excellent Rally
  • Work on advanced and excellent sequences to improve teamwork.
  • Work on polishing their handling techniques.
  • Team is working on getting ready for competition and/or already competing in Rally.
Class fee: $90 for 6 week class.

How to register for a class

To register for classes, please complete the registration form [click HERE for registration form], and send the registration form along with a check made payable to Center for Canine Sports and mail to:

Please include a copy of your current rabies vaccination with the check; tags are not proof of being vaccinated. Payment for new registrations must be received 2 weeks before start of class.

A late fee of $25 will be assessed for late payments!

Pre-registration for agility classes is required and must be received no later then 2 weeks before the start of the first class.


Refunds: No refunds or credits will be given after the first week of class.
